Mount Lewotobi Men Vomit 200 Meters Of Abu Capai

The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) recorded the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki in East Flores Regency (Flotim), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) with a height of ash ponds reaching approximately 200 meters.

"There was an eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki on August 13, 2025 at 17.47 WITA with a column of ash height of approximately 200 above the peak or approximately 1,784 meters above sea level," said Mount Lewotobi Observation Post (PGA) Officer Yohanes Kolli Sorywutun in a written report received in Labuan Bajo, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

He added that in the eruption the height of the ash column was observed to be gray to brown with moderate to thick intensity leaning towards the southwest and west.

The eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 7.4 millimeters (mm) and a duration of approximately one minute 37 seconds.

Previously, Mount Lewotobi Male, who was 1,584 meters high above sea level on Wednesday, experienced two eruptions.

Currently, Mount Lewotobi Men are at Level III (Alert) Status. Therefore, the public and visitors are advised not to carry out any activities within a 6 km radius of the male Mount Lewotobi eruption center.

The public is also advised to be calm and follow the directions of the local government and not to believe in issues whose sources are unclear.

People around Mount Lewotobi Male are asked to be aware of the potential for rain lava flooding in rivers that originate at the top of Mount Lewotobi Men in the event of high-intensity rain, especially the areas of Dulipali, Padang Pasir, Nobo, Nu Selapolen, Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru, and Nawakote villages.

People affected by the ash rain of Mount Lewotobi Male are also asked to wear masks or nose coverings to avoid the dangers of volcanic ash in the respiratory system.
