Baekhyun EXO Will Comeback As Soloist

JAKARTA - EXO group member Baekhyun was confirmed to be comeback as a soloist by releasing a new album. The agency that shelters him, SM Entertainment reported this on Wednesday, April 22. Previously, OSEN TV reported that the singer who was born on May 6 is busy with the album production process.

SM Entertainment also confirmed this. "Baekhyun is currently preparing a solo album for release in May," said the SM representative.

Currently, the album is entering its final stage so the agency asked fans to anticipate Baekhyun's comeback. After this news was released, EXO-L enlivened the hashtag #BAEKHYUN_is_Back as a marker of fan enthusiasm with Baekhyun's solo album.

Baekhyun is the third member to do solo projects after Lay and Chen. In July 2019, he released the mini album City Lights with UN Village as a single for promotion.

Much awaited by fans, UN Village received many positive responses from EXO-L (as EXO fans) because the song matched Baekhyun's timbre. Sales of this album reached more than 400 thousand physical copies and made the City Lights album the most-selling solo album in South Korea after the record was held by Seo Taiji with the album 7th Issue in 2004.

Before debuting as a soloist, Baekhyun joined the EXO-CBX sub unit consisting of Chen, Xiumin, and himself. This sub unit was in a vacuum after Xiumin served military service in 2019.

Apart from being a soloist and a member in a sub-unit, Baekhyun is also productive by carrying out activities with the SuperM group founded by SM Entertainment. This group is a joint group between several groups at SM Entertainment, namely Baekhyun and Kai from EXO, Mark and Taeyong from NCT, Lucas and Ten from WayvV, and Taemin from SHINee.

They just performed together for the One World: Together at Home concert held by WHO and Lady Gaga by performing the song With You. They are scheduled to hold an online concert titled Beyond Live on April 26. Looks like fans will meet Baekhyun a lot. We'll just wait!
