Pertamina EP And BUMD Petro Muba Ready To Work On 490 Wells

JAKARTA - Pertamina EP signed a contract with Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) Petro Muba to work on hundreds of old wells in the South Sumatra region.

Quoted from the official website of SKK Migas today, Tuesday, August 12, SKK Migas gave directions on signing the Old Sumur Agreement Contract between Pertamina EP and BUMD Petro Muba.

This activity is a tangible form of the implementation of the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 14 of 2025 concerning Cooperation in Management of the Working Area (WK) for Oil and Gas Production Improvement.

One of the contents is the handling of community oil wells to reduce environmental, social and social impacts and increase oil production and state revenue.

Through the collaboration between Pertamina EP and BUMD Petro Muba, it is hoped that starting next week the wells will produce and oil will bill up to 2,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) from 490 wells.

Previously, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung revealed that people's wells in South Sumatra had the potential to immediately sign oil sales contracts with Pertamina.

Yuliot explained that currently the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has identified at least 33,000 people's oil wells whose production will be recorded as part of the national oil lifting.

"There are 33,000 people's wells identified," he continued.

Furthermore, Yuliot added. The 3,000 wells will be managed by Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD), cooperatives, or micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"Which one can run first, not waiting for 33,000. Preparedness from local governments, BUMD, cooperatives, and small-medium business entities in their respective regions," Yuliot explained.
