Rp80 MRT Tariff Until Transjakarta Applies August 17-18
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has extended the validity period for a special tariff of Rp80 for public transportation such as MRT Jakarta and Transjakarta from the previous only on August 17, to two days, until August 18, 2025.
This policy is part of the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).
Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, this policy was taken as a form of appreciation to the public as well as to encourage the use of public transportation.
"We decided to extend it to two days. We want Jakarta residents and their surroundings to enjoy the moment of independence more freely, while reducing the use of private vehicles," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 12.
Syafrin said that the Rp80 tariff was not just a symbolic warning, but also a real invitation to the public to participate in celebrating independence in an environmentally friendly, affordable and public-oriented way.
Apart from being a form of national celebration, this program is also part of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's long-term campaign to increase the number of public transportation users.
