Prabowo Will Confirm 76 Paskibraka Candidates At The Palace Tomorrow, Ready To Spread Red And White At The 80th Indonesian Independence Day

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate 76 candidates for the Heritage Flag-raising Troop (Paskibraka) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 13.

"(The inauguration of Paskibraka) is planned for August 13th," said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi after witnessing the dirty rehearsal of joint exercises at the Merdeka Palace courtyard, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, August 12.

The inauguration of Paskibraka from the 38 provinces will be carried out before the clean rehearsal of the Commemoration Ceremony of the 80th Proclamation of Indonesian Independence on August 17.

Prasetyo explained that dirty rehearsals were part of the adaptation process for Paskibraka candidates and ceremony officers, ranging from raising to lowering the flag.

When the dirty rehearsal took place, heavy rain flushed the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace. However, rows of activities continued smoothly.

"We hope that later on Sunday, August 17, the weather will be friendly. But whatever the conditions are, there will be no problems. Want to rain, want to continue," said Prasetyo.

He added that the Palace would conduct an evaluation because there were a number of things that were considered not perfect.

Of the 76 Paskibraka candidates, three will serve as carriers of the balance and flag bearers. However, their names will only be announced on August 17, 2025.

The day before, the Paskibraka candidates held the last joint exercise in Jakarta with the Paspampres, TNI/Polri, and the music unit. Prasetyo said that a number of members were still nervous because it was the first time they had practiced in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace.
