BUMN Employees Called Receive Social Assistance, Chairman Of The DPR Urges The Government To Verify Data
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, appealed to the government to verify data carefully in the implementation of social assistance programs. This follows the findings of the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) indicating that BUMN employees receive social assistance (Bansos).
Puan reminded that every Government program is based on accurate and up-to-date data. He emphasized that the data verification process must be a top priority before the Government makes a decision to change or continue an aid program.
"I even ask related parties, data verification is the most important. So data verification should not change one program without good data verification, which is detailed, which is true because the data is the most important thing as a guide," said Puan at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, August 11th.
Puan asked the Government to really prioritize caution in the data verification process for social assistance recipients. He also reminded that the implementation of social assistance programs is not wrong.
According to him, the Government must ensure that people who are entitled to assistance do not take their rights due to system errors.
"Do not let the people who have the right to get all the programs do not get even people who do not have the right to get these programs," said Puan.
Puan also revealed her experience while serving as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture. At that time, she always emphasized the importance of coordination between ministries based on the latest data to determine the continuation or improvement of a program.
"Then usually when I became Coordinating Minister, the Coordinating Minister coordinated all of these ministries based on the latest data, whether they decided to change the program, be replaced or repaired or evaluated and so on," he said.
"So please first improve the data, evaluate the data," added Puan.
