Amoritism Supports Fernandes Criticism Called Manchester United Lazy
JAKARTA - After ending the worst Premier League season since about 50 years ago by finishing in 15th place, Manchester United began to improve.
They are very active in the summer transfer market while undergoing preparations to welcome the new season.
The series of preparations starts from the pre-season tour. The Red Devils flew to Asia to the United States.
In total, there were six matches they played during the tour - three wins, two draws, and one defeat.
Manchester United then returned to England to complete pre-season preparations against Fiorentina at Old Trafford on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
In that match, Ruben Amorim's troops won on penalties 5-4 after the normal time match ended in series 1-1.

In the span of about two months that Manchester United has passed, a number of big names have also been recruited. Call it Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and most recently Benjamin Sesko--total spent more than 200 million pounds (approximately IDR 4.3 trillion).
Manchester United's series of preparations and strengthening have not made the team perfect, but at least they know there are flaws that have been the cause of bad performances for the 2024/2025 season.
This was felt by the captain, Bruno Fernandes, during the pramsim tour. He criticized that the 'lazyness' of the players made Manchester United slump.
The Red Devils coach, Ruben Amorim, also supported Bruno Fernandes' criticism of his team.
In fact, Amoritism is happy with the players who support each other in their efforts to improve culture at Old Trafford.
"I'm glad the players felt that way. It shows that they understand the situation. So, it's a good feeling. I think the pre-season tour momentum is perfect."
"We had weeks to train with a good environment, good feelings, and then we went back to Carrington. We almost started the season."
"We drove with the feeling that we needed to do a lot (which was better)," said Amorim.
Despite these criticisms, the activities of the Manchester United transfer market seem to have subsided after the arrival of Sesko.
However, amorism suggests the hunt is not over until the deadline for the transfer window is closed.
"A team can always grow with more players, but we have players who can compete."
"We need to develop as a team. We have the potential to develop with our players. I am very happy with this club," said the Portuguese coach.
Separately, Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada said the recruitment team worked around the clock to add more players to the squad.
"We have a lot to do at once. We have a team in our country led by Jason (Wilcox), the recruitment team, who work around the clock to make sure we keep finding opportunities to strengthen our squad."
"There were a lot of late-night phone calls and meetings early in the morning to make sure we stay focused," said Berrada.
