Earth Gas Production Slopes In June, Bahlil Opens Voice

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported that until June 2025, Indonesia's natural gas production reached 1,146.4 MBOEPD per day or 114 percent of the target.

This figure was observed to decrease from the previous month which was recorded at 1,211.3 MBOEPD.

Bahlil explained that the decline in production was due to several Cooperation Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) which temporarily suspended production due to technical problems.

"There are several KKKS operators who make improvements, services so there are several stops," he said at the 2025 Semester I Performance Achievement Press Conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, August 11.

Bahlil ensured that this temporary production suspension would not last long.

He emphasized that production figures will increase again in July and August.

"God willing, in July August it will be good," continued Bahlil.

Thus, the accumulation of oil and gas production in the first semester of 2025 reached 1,754.5 MBOEPD from the 2025 APBN target of 1,610 MBOEPD or with an average of 111.9 percent above the target.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also reported the use of natural gas until the first semester of 5,598 BBTUD with an allocation for exports of 31 percent or 1,721 BBTUD.

Pemanfaatan gas untuk penggunaan domestik tercatat sebesar 3.877 atau sebesar 69 persen dari total produksi.

Bahlil merinci, gas domestik paling banyak dimanfaatkan untuk hilirisasi di bidang industri dan pupuk sebesar 2.110 atau 38 persen.

Sementara itu, penggunaan domestik lain seperti Bahan Bakar Gas (BBG), jaringan gas (jargas), peningkatan produksi migas, ketenagalistrikan, LNG dan elpiji sebesar 1.767 BBTUD.

Gas utilization for domestic use was recorded at 3,877 or 69 percent of total production.

Bahlil detailed that domestic gas is most used for downstreaming in the industrial and fertilizer fields by 2,110 or 38 percent.

Meanwhile, other domestic use such as Gas Fuel (BBG), gas network (jargas), increased oil and gas production, electricity, LNG and LPG by 1,767 BBTUD.
