President Macron Condemns PM Netanyahu's Plan: Israeli Hostages And Gazan People Become Victims
French President Emmanuel Macron denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin's plan to control the Gaza Strip, saying it would only sacrifice Israeli hostages and Gazans.
Condemning the plan to expand Israel's military operations in Gaza's Mawasi camp, President Macron proposed an international coalition under the mandate of the United Nations to stabilize Gaza.
"The announcement of the Israeli Cabinet of its expansion of operations in Gaza City and the Mawasi camps as well as the re-invasion by Israel is a disaster with an unprecedented level of seriousness and a quick move towards a permanent war," President Macron told French news station BFMTV. August 11th.
"The Israeli hostages and the Gazan people will continue to be the first victims of this strategy," he added.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week announced plans to exercise military control over the Gaza Strip. The plan met opposition and criticism from various countries to international humanitarian organizations and agencies.
On Sunday, PM Natanyahu said the latest attack on Gaza would begin soon, although there is no certainty of time, after previously Israel's Security Cabinet approved only control of the Gaza City area.
