Threatened With Crimes, The Perpetrators Of The Waste Exhaust Trucks Into The Water Channels In Jatinegara Turned Out To Have Violated The Rules 3 Times

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and the police have arrested the perpetrators of three garbage tanker trucks who were caught disposing of domestic waste into the city's drainage canal on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.

From the results of the inspection, one of the trucks belonging to PT Putra Ogan Sejahtera. Apparently, this company had committed similar violations on May 18, 2022, and November 21, 2022, from different fleets.

Meanwhile, two other fleets, according to the explanation of the Head of the Law Enforcement Subgroup of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service, Hugo Badminton, belonged to individuals.

"The owner has indeed been hit several times. So, the driver is only the executor of the owner's duties, we will call him," Hugo said in East Jakarta, Monday, August 11.

Hugo said the perpetrator had been processed through the case report (BAP) and was threatened with a minor crime (tipiring) with a minimum imprisonment of 10 days and a maximum of 60 days or a fine of Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 20 million.

This criminal imposition refers to Article 21 letter c of Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order which states that every person or body is prohibited from throwing large and small water on roads, green lanes, parks, rivers and waterways.

"This is not an individual, this is a violator of business actors. So, the sanctions must be heavier than individual waste," Hugo said.

"We will give severe sanctions, including the revocation of business licenses for transport companies that are proven to have violated. All waste must be disposed of in the official silt processing plant (IPLT)," he continued.

For information, the incident was taken in a photo spread on Instagram social media. In the photo, the truck is deliberately parked on the side of the road, then the waste in the truck is thrown into the water channel using a hose.

The DKI Department of Environment and Forestry received a report on the disposal of waste into the waterways on Saturday, August 9. Then on Monday, August 11, the perpetrator was arrested and immediately prosecuted.
