Silfester Matutina Files for Judicial Review, Attorney General's Office: No Delay in Execution Process
JAKARTA - Silfester Matutina, Chairman of the Red and White Solidarity, has filed a judicial review (PK) petition regarding the defamation case against the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla. Regarding this matter, the Attorney General's Office (AGO) stated that it would not interfere with the execution process against him.
"In principle, a judicial review does not delay the execution process," said Anang Supriatna, Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center, when confirmed on Monday, August 11.
Silfester Matutina officially filed the judicial review petition on August 5, 2025, at the South Jakarta District Court.
The first hearing for Silfester Matutina's judicial review will be held on August 20, 2025.
Regarding the execution process, Anang previously stated that the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office would handle it.
However, he did not provide details regarding the execution date, only stating that it would be carried out as soon as possible.
"Regarding Silfester, the case has been legally binding and falls under the jurisdiction of the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office as the executing prosecutor," said Anang.
For your information, according to the official Supreme Court (MA) website, Silfester Matutina was sentenced to one year and six months in prison for a general criminal case in 2019. That verdict has become legally binding.
However, to date, the authorized party, the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office, has not carried out the execution, even though the verdict has been legally binding for six years.
