Wuling Hongguang Mini EV Production To 1.7 Million Launches From Factory

JAKARTA - Wuling announced the launch of the Hongguang Mini EV model to 1.7 million from production lines in China, signaling this model reaps success in the local market.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Monday, August 11, Wuling first launched Hongguang Mini EV in July 2020 at the 23rd Chengdu Auto Show.

This series now consists of the third generation Hongguang Mini EV, the five-door variant, the Game Boy edition, the Cabrio edition, and the Classic edition. For the five-door variant entering the market in February with prices ranging from 48,000 yuan or around Rp108 million.

This variant has a length dimension of 3,256 mm, a width of 1510 mm, a height of 1578 mm with a wheelbase of 2190 mm. The vacant weight is only at 780 kg.

This car is equipped with a rear electric motor with a maximum power of 30 kW (40 hp) and a lithium iron phosphate battery of 16.2 kWh, which is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 100 km/hour and a CLTC reach of 205 km.

In fast charging mode, charging time from 30 to 80 percent is only 35 minutes, while slow charging from 20 to 100 percent takes 4.8 hours.

In 2022, Wuling Hongguang Mini EV cumulative sales surpassed 554,000 units. In 2023, that figure surpassed 237,863 units. Then in 2024, cumulative sales exceeded 1.4 million units.

So, since the launch, this car has been quite in demand thanks to modern design combinations, as well as embedded with attractive features, including the price which is quite affordable.
