Central Java Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Edicates 5 Intellectual Property Violations

SEMARANG - The Ministry of Law (Kemenkum) of Central Java Region mediated five cases of violations of intellectual property rights during the 2025 period.

"During 2025, there were eight reports with the reported reaching 50 parties," said the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Intellectual Analysis Analyst for the Central Java Region Tri Juniarto in Semarang, Antara, Monday, August 11.

According to him, the reports of intellectual property infringement are mostly related to copyrighting batik and music motives again.

Several cases that have been successfully mediated include disputes between the Semarang City Government and the creator again of Semarang Great, the plagiarism case of one of the rectors of state universities in Semarang, the violation of motifs for geographical indications in Lasem, as well as violations of trademark rights in several traditional markets in Kudus and Jepara.

According to him, extra efforts still need to be made in paying royalties that have not been optimal to the state and song owners who have not received maximum economic benefits.

Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights noted that Central Java is the area with the highest number of intellectual property violations nationally.

Central Java also won first place in the recapitulation of the number of intellectual property mediators.

The existence of competent mediators in the region is an important asset in creating fast, cheap, and efficient legal protection.
