Along With Persija's Victory, Mauricio Souza Delivers A Message Of Love On Father's Day
JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta coach, Mauricio Souza, looks happy during a press conference after the 2025/2026 Super League match against Persita Tangerang.
Apart from the team's perfect result, it turns out that happiness is also because he is celebrating father's day in Brazil.
Before reviewing the results of his team's match, Souza first delivered a personal message. Interestingly, when entering the press conference room, the coach wore a picture of himself and his daughter,
"Good night. Before conveying anything else, I would like to ask permission. Today is Father's Day in Brazil."
"I want to send my daughter a kiss. She is in Brazil. I want to say that I really love her," said Souza at the Jakarta International Stadium, Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Souza also opened his Persija debut with a 4-0 win over Persita. With this result, the Kemayoran Tigers temporarily temporarily topped the Super League with three points.
"From the start we controlled the game. The difference between the first and second half was only in goals. I didn't analyze the game just from the results, but from what we did on the pitch," Souza said of his team's game.
The Brazilian coach emphasized that this victory was the result of collective work, including the contribution of substitutes.
He gave an example of Persija's second goal which started with the fight for Hanif Sjahbandi's ball.
Responding to questions about the use of the strength of winger Allano De Souza, Souza said it was indeed one of the team's characters, but Persija's game was more complex with an attacking and defensive balance.
Regarding Maxwell's first appearance, Souza revealed that the new striker only joined on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, so it was only played in the second half to maintain physical condition. Maxwell polished his Persija debut with one goal.
"I think the decision was right. He came in well and helped the team," he said.
Souza was also mentioned about the remaining one foreign player slot in the team. Regarding this possibility, Souza stated that he did not know the name associated with Persija.
"Maybe we're still looking for a foreign player, but his name is kept and you won't know either," said the former Madura United coach.
