Half A Century Of Indonesia's Relations 'Pere', Prabowo Anupat Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna
President Prabowo Subianto conferred the highest honor, Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, to Peru President Dina Ercilia Bouarte Zegarra during a state visit at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday, August 11.
The award was pinned in a ceremony in the Kredential Room, Merdeka Palace. Prabowo conveyed that the honor was given because the 64th President of Peru was considered to have contributed to strengthening bilateral relations and friendship between the two countries.
Today, I have conferred the highest honor from our country, namely Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, for his significant services and role in improving friendly relations and bilateral cooperation between the two countries. We hope this cooperation will continue to be improved in the future," Prabowo said in a joint statement with President Bouarte quoted from Antara.
During the event, President Bouarte was seen wearing a sign of honor stretched from his right shoulder to his left waist.
Prabowo also said that Boluarte's state visit was a historic event. In addition to coinciding with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru on August 12, 2025, this visit has also been the first by the President of Peru since diplomatic relations opened in 1975.
"On November 14, 2024, the President of Peru has awarded me the highest honor of Peru, namely The Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru, which is also a tribute to the entire Indonesian nation," Prabowo said.
The award was given when Prabowo visited Lima, Peru, and met President Bouarte on the sidelines of the APEC 2024 Summit.
President Bouarte arrived in Jakarta on Sunday, August 10, after taking a flight more than one day from Lima. The next day, he was greeted at the Merdeka Palace with an honorary ceremony. A motorcade of equestrian troops escorted the presidential car that carried him.
Prabowo welcomed Boluarte on the side of the Merdeka Palace, then the two shook hands before entering the building. They held a four-eye meeting in the Presidential Office of the Republic of Indonesia, then continued with a working lunch with the Peruvian Government delegation.
