Betung Findings On The MBG Sorong Menu, BGN Apologizes

SORONG - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) conducted an in-depth investigation and check regarding the findings ofbags on the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) menu at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Klamasen, Sorong, Southwest Papua, which was distributed on Friday, August 8.

BGN apologized to all affected parties and ensured strict supervision so that similar incidents would not be repeated.

"BGN and all SPPG Klamasen officers apologize to all affected parties. With this incident, BGN took firm steps and monitored and escorted the SPPG in overcoming the incident," said BGN spokesman, Redy Hendra Gunawan, in a written statement, Monday, August 11.

Redy emphasized that BGN is fully committed to resolving this issue and implementing stricter preventive measures. "Internal evaluations with all kitchen staff have been carried out to identify potential negligence in the process of preparation, processing, and packaging food," he added.

SPPG Claims To Have Fulfilled SOP

The head of the SPPG Klamasen, Rizky Irana, stated that his party had carried out all procedures according to operational standards (SOPs) and guidelines that apply in the procurement of MBG packages every day.

"We have carried out all stages starting from the preparation of raw materials, the process of cooking and sorting, to the distribution of food in accordance with the SOP in force at the National Nutrition Agency," said Rizky.

As soon as the incident occurred, the SPPG immediately coordinated with BGN, the foundation, beneficiary schools, the Military District Command (Kodim), and the local Health Office. As a firm step, all MBG packages that had been distributed that day were withdrawn and carried out an internal evaluation.

"We and the foundation have checked food samples and ensured that the results are suitable for consumption. Furthermore, we are coordinating with the local Health Office and the Kodim," he added.

For the time being, MBG operations at the Klamasen SPPG are suspended while evaluating and improving SOPs according to the recommendations of the Health Office. One of the steps that will be implemented is the organolastic test on each food delivery before the program resumes.
