Expect The Fastest Response For Griezmann In The Metropolitano
MADRID - French striker, Antoine Griezmann will return to the city of Madrid for the 14th week of La Liga match with Barcelona. This is Griezmann's first 'return' to the Wanda Metropolitano since joining Los Blaugrana last summer.
Griezmann has never enjoyed a warm relationship with Atleti fans. His departure drew criticism from people associated with the Madrid club.
He joined the Catalan club in July when his € 120 million release clause was redeemed by Barca, although a series of reports in the Spanish media said they already had an email proving the deal was finalized in March.
That means he is determined to leave Los Rojiblancos two months before the end of the season, and while they were still involved in last season's Champions League and La Liga title race.
Ahead of the match which is predicted to be exciting and hot, Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke asked fans not to whistle and criticize his former idol star.
"People have their opinion and you have to respect that," Atleti midfielder Koke responded when asked if Atleti fans would whistle and jeer at Griezmann.
Koke continued, he also had an opinion about Griezmann but would keep it to himself. Currently, he is only focused on the match and asks the audience to respect Griezmann.
“During his five years here he gave everything for Atlético, now he is a rival and we are playing against Barcelona, not only against Griezmann. We want to give everything we have; this is a special match for everyone. We will try to do our best, "explained Koke.
