President Inaugurates 3 Commander Of The TNI Elite Troops, DPR: Front Guard Faces Global Threats

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sukamta responded to the inauguration of three commanders of the elite Indonesian National Army (TNI) troops by President Prabowo Subianto. According to him, the three commanders of the elite TNI troops are at the forefront of the security of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) from increasingly complex global challenges.

"The three elite TNI troops are at the forefront of Indonesia in dealing with increasingly complex threats," said Sukamta, Monday, August 11.

According to Sukamta, there are several challenges that the TNI may face in the future. First, the increase in the latest technological-based combat capabilities, including the mastery of combat drones, cyber, and artificial intelligence.

Second, the demand for preparedness to face asymmetric threats such as terrorism, foreign intelligence infiltration, arms smuggling, and cross-border crimes requires a quick and high-precision response.

Third, securing strategic areas to ensure sovereignty in border areas, high seas, and airspace from potential external threats and open conflicts.

"Fourth, strengthening joint operations between dimensions to build land-sea-air interoperability so that joint operations run effectively and responsively," explained the legislator from the DI Yogyakarta electoral district.

Therefore, Sukamta ensured the commitment of Commission I of the DPR RI in strengthening the TNI, including elite troops through political support, budget, and policies in parliament. He emphasized that the strong TNI is a professional, modern, and people-backed TNI.

"The global challenge demands that we have elite troops who are not only physically resilient, but also superior in technology and strategy," said Sukamta.

Furthermore, the leadership of the DPR's defense commission also congratulated the three commanders of the elite TNI troops who have been officially inaugurated by the president. Sukamta hopes that the new commanders can bring updates and increase TNI preparedness in every situation.

"On behalf of myself and as Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR RI, I congratulate you on duty," he said.

"Hopefully this great mandate can be carried out with full dedication, maintain the honor of the TNI, and always prioritize the interests of the nation above all else," concluded Sukamta.

As is known, three commanders of the elite TNI troops have been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto at the Ceremony of the Operational and Military Honorary Forces at the Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, Bandung, West Java, Sunday, August 10.

The three high-ranking officers who were inaugurated were Lt. Gen. Djon Afriandi as Pangkopassus, Lieutenant General of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Endi Supardi as Pangkormar, and Marsdya TNI Deny Muis as Pangkopasgat.

This inauguration is a historic momentum for three elite TNI combat units, namely the Indonesian Army Special Forces Command (Kopassus), the Indonesian Navy's Marine Corps, and the Indonesian Air Force Rapid Action Corps (Kopasgat).

Because for the first time, the three of them will be led by a three-star general and bear the nickname 'Panglima', replacing the term 'Commander' which has been used so far. In addition to the three commanders of elite troops, President Prabowo also inaugurated the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General Tandyo Budi Revita.
