Amazon Delays Kuiper Satellite Launch Due To Weather Conditions

JAKARTA Amazon announced a delay in its launch schedule for Project Kuiper's mission. The satellite launch program was not launched on time due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The mission, called KF-02, was supposed to launch on August 10, but Amazon shifted its launch schedule to the next day. The re-launch will take place on August 11 and the launch window will open for 27 minutes.

Although its launch schedule was delayed, launch rockets and satellites remained in good condition. This delay was purely due to weather factors that made it impossible to recover the booster from SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket.

"Due to unfavorable weather conditions for booster recovery during the August 10 launch attempt, SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch for our KF-02 mission is now targeted August 11 at the latest," Amazon said in a report.

In fact, the KF-02 mission is scheduled for August 7 with a planned launch with Falcon-9. However, the launch schedule continues to shift due to a number of factors. Amazon did not reveal the reason for the delay in the first launch schedule.

Through the KF-02 mission, Amazon will send 24 Kuiper satellites back to orbit. With this launch, the total Kuiper satellites that have orbited will be 102 satellites. The launch of this satellite will continue until Amazon has 3,200 satellites in orbit.

This launch will carry the satellites at an altitude of 465 kilometers above Earth. After SpaceX launches, Amazon will take control of the mission and satellites will be gradually lifted to an altitude of 630 km.
