Russia Reminds Israel Who Wants Total Control Of Gaza, The Consequences Will Be Bad

JAKARTA - Israel plans to expand its military operations in the Gaza Strip. This brings criticism from various countries, including Russia.

The Russian side believes the plan will exacerbate the situation in the Palestinian enclave and has a serious impact on the entire Middle East region, the Russian government warned on Saturday, August 9.

The warning came after on Thursday, Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans to take control of the entire Gaza Strip to form a security perimeter, before handing it over to the new "civil government".

"The implementation of such decisions and plans, which sparked criticism and rejection, risks exacerbating the already dramatic situation in the Palestinian territories, which shows all signs of a humanitarian catastrophe," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said in a statement, citing ANTARA on August 10.

A day later, Netanyahu's office stated that Israel's security cabinet had approved its proposal to crush Hamas and seize control of Gaza City.

According to him, this step will seriously undermine international efforts to defuse conflicts and have serious negative consequences for regional stability.

Israel is facing a wave of world outrage over the genocide war in Gaza, which has killed more than 61,000 Palestinians since October 2023. The Zionist regime's military operations have destroyed the region and caused a humanitarian disaster, including hunger.
