White House Crypto Adviser, Bo Hines, Announces Resignation

JAKARTA Bo Hines, who heads the Council of Advisors on Digital Assets (Digital Asset Advisory Board) US President Donald Trump, announced on Saturday 9 August that he would leave his position in the White House and return to the private sector.

Hines, 26 years old, was previously known as a candidate for US House of Representatives member from Trump's North Carolina 5th congress district. He was appointed executive director of the White House crypto work group after Trump ordered its creation in January, as part of a campaign pledge to reform US crypto policy.

Late last July, the Hines-led working group included several administration officials 'released a crypto policy guide that prompted US capital market regulators (SECs) to make specific rules for digital assets.

The group also supports Trump's draft stablecoin (permanent crypto asset against the US dollar) which Trump signed last month.

"Working in the administration of President Trump and with AI & Crypto Advisor @DavidSacks as Executive Director of the White House Crypto Council is a lifelong honor," Hines wrote on platform X (formerly Twitter).

David Sacks, who served as AI Czar White Building, praised Hines' contribution in response.

Hines, who failed to be elected in North Carolina twice, is said to support the GENIUS Act of legislation that regulates stablecoins as everyday means of payment.
