The Ministry Of Creative Economy Calls The Best Creative Economy Rate In The Last 11 Years
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenkraf) said that the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia in the last 11 years has shown a significant number.
"The growth of the creative economy shows a significant number from 2013 to 2024," said the Expert Staff of the Minister of Creative Economy in the field of the Septriana Tangkary Marketing and Infrastructure System, as reported by Antara, Sunday, August 10.
According to Septriana, referring to data from the Ministry of Creative Economy, the number of labor absorption from the creative economy sector in 2013 was recorded at 14 million people. This figure increased dramatically until 2024 to 26.47 people, an increase of around 89%.
Then, the creative economy sector also contributed 119% added value, from the initial IDR 700 trillion in 2013 to IDR 1.532 trillion in 2024. In the same period, export value also recorded a positive growth of 67% from US$ 15 billion to US$ 25.10 billion.
In his presentation, he said that for the next five years the Ministry of Creative Economy has mapped 15 provinces that have been designated as priority areas for creative economy development.
He mentioned the 15 regions, namely Aceh Province, West Sumatra Province, Riau Islands, North Sumatra, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, Bali, East Java, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua Province.
To accelerate the development of the creative economy in the 15 provinces, the Ministry of Creative Economy carried out a number of interventions. This step is in the form of strengthening data to measure the impact of creative economy policies on a sustainable basis.

The selection of the priority province for creative economy development was chosen by Bappenas by referring to the PDRB of the creative economy, the digital competitiveness index score, universities with Steam programs, creative district and city locations, cultural development indexes, financial inclusion indexes.
