Advancing Keris Culture, Menbud Fadli Zon Encourages SNKI To Strengthen Strategy
JAKARTA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized the importance of strategies to advance keris culture in the 2nd National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian National Secretariat (SNKI) at the Ministry of Education and Culture Complex, Jakarta, Saturday, August 9. This National Working Meeting is a forum for evaluating the performance of the three-year management for the 2022 2027 period while designing strategic steps ahead.
"An important evaluation is carried out to look at the results, impacts, weaknesses, and excess programs, as the basis for designing the next activity," said Menbud Fadli.
Since its establishment in 2006, SNKI has reached almost all of Indonesia with more than 200 associations. Members who used to be concentrated in Java, Madura, Bali, and Lombok have now expanded to Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi. Menbud Fadli assessed that this growth needs to be managed seriously with strategic planning and synergy with local governments.
He encouraged the use of National Keris Day every April 19 to echo Keris culture through international forums, such as the International Keris Summit and Keris Expo. The government has also opened access to funding through the Indonesian Fund and assistance for tempa equipment for studios in Bali and Bandung.
On this occasion, 14 social gathering figures, including Menbud Fadli, received Certificates for Competency Curator Keris from BNSP. Certification is expected to strengthen professionalism at the national and international levels.
