Welcoming RI's Anniversary, There Is A 20 Percent Rail Ticket Discount

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta provides a commercial train ticket discount of 20 percent to welcome the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Ixfan Hendriwintoko said the promo was a form of appreciation to loyal train users as well as an invitation to the public to celebrate independence in a positive and useful way.

"This discount is an opportunity for customers to experience KAI services at a more affordable price," said Ixfan as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 9.

He also invited the entire community to take advantage of the momentum of the Indonesian Independence Day to travel by train as a comfortable, timely, and more environmentally friendly transportation.

A number of conditions and provisions in the 'Merdeka' program, namely purchasing tickets at discount rates, can be done in all KAI sales channels on August 12-17, 2025, for departure on August 17, 2025.

Then, discount rates apply to commercial trains on the islands of Java and Sumatra, and discounts do not apply to Luxury, Compartement, Priority, Imperial, Panoramic and/or other tourist trains.

In addition, discounts also do not apply at special rates, and cannot be combined with reductions or other discounts.

Finally, tickets with discount rates can be canceled and schedule changed according to applicable regulations.

On weekdays, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operates an average of 69 long-distance trains (KAJJ), while on weekends the number soars to 73 to 75 KAJJ.

Of this number, departures are dominated by Gambir Station with 34 to 41 KAJJ per day, and Pasar Senen Station with 34 KAJJ per day.

KAI invites the public to take advantage of the promo by purchasing tickets early, considering the number of seats at limited promo rates.
