Saving Cultural Heritage, Kemenbud Tinjau Pasir Lulumpang To Emphasize Deep Research And Studies

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized the need for in-depth research and study to uncover the history of the Lulamumpang Sand Site in Cimaresme Village, Banyuresmi District, Garut. This visit was conducted Thursday, August 7, as part of the search for cultural heritage in West Java.

The Sand Lulumpang site is known for its large hole in the middle and is surrounded by a punden-shaped soil structure in the form of a banger. Pasir Lulumpang has the characteristics according to his name, there are airfall and there may be a daken. This site consists of 13 terraces as a cultural structure," said Fadli while researching the arrangement of ancient rocks between trees and hills.

To reach the location, Fadli traveled by motorbike belonging to the residents, then walked and stepped on the leaves until he arrived at a hole. Cimareme residents warmly welcomed the group and helped facilitate the trip to the site that had been designated as the Garut Regency Cultural Heritage.

According to Fadli, the original function of the stones in the form of airfall is still mysterious. Deer research is needed. With a strong narrative and adequate literacy, hidden knowledge can be revived," he said. He also assessed that this site has the potential to become a center of knowledge and cultural tourism, especially in the vicinity where similar structures were found.

The condition of the site that is still being maintained shows residents' concern for cultural heritage. Fadli ensured that the Ministry of Culture would follow up with a study on preservation and collaboration with local governments, historians, and the cultural community.

With high historical value, beautiful natural panorama, and wide research opportunities, Pasir Lulumpang not only belongs to Garut, but is also an important part of Indonesia's cultural heritage that deserves to be known to the world.
