BI Records Consumer Confidence Index In July 2025 At Level 118.1
JAKARTA - The Bank Indonesia Consumer Survey in July 2025 indicated that consumer confidence in economic conditions had increased, this was reflected in the July 2025 Consumer Confidence Index (IKK) which was at an optimistic level of 118.1, or higher than the previous month's IKK which was recorded at 117.8.
Executive Director of the Communication Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, expressed consumer optimism in July 2025 stemming from consumer confidence in current economic conditions that are maintained and consumer confidence in future economic conditions is increasing.
"This is reflected in the Current Economic Condition Index (IKE) and the Consumer Expectation Index (IEK), which were recorded at 106.6 and 129.6, respectively," he wrote in his statement, Friday, August 8.
Based on the expenditure group, consumer confidence in July 2025 increased for all groups, with the highest IKK recorded in respondents spending IDR 4.1-5 million (119.9), followed by respondents spending more than IDR 5 million (119.5).
Meanwhile, based on age group, IKK is at an optimistic level in all age groups, with the highest IKK being recorded in respondents aged 31-40 years (122.3) and 20-30 years (121.7).
Spatially, the increase in IKK occurred in the majority of cities, with the highest increase in Pontianak, Semarang, and Jakarta. Meanwhile, a number of cities experienced a decline in IKK, especially in Medan, Makassar, Surabaya, and Mataram.

As for July 2025, the average proportion of consumer income for consumption (average property to consumer ratio) was recorded at 75.4 percent, higher than the proportion in the previous month, which was 75.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the proportion of consumer income stored (saving to income ratio) was 13.7 percent, lower than the proportion in the previous month of 14.1 percent. Furthermore, the proportion of installment/debt payment (debt to income ratio) in July 2025 was relatively stable at 10.9 percent.
The proportion of consumption of income is indicated to increase in most expenditure groups, especially IDR 1-2 million (78.4 percent).
Meanwhile, the portion of income saved decreased, especially in the expenditure group of IDR 3.1-4 million to 13.7 percent.
