U-21 Women's Volleyball World Championship, Indonesia Is Getting More Pessimistic
JAKARTA The Indonesian Women's Volleyball national team is increasingly pessimistic in the remaining matches of the 2025 FIVB U-21 Women's U-21 Women's U-21 World Championship World Championship (2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's U-21 World Championship) after losing to Vietnam in the first match of Group A.
Marcos Sugiyama's squad must recognize the superiority of Southeast Asian rivals in the three sets of 15-25, 16-25, and 18-25 matches at the Java Pos Arena, on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
"It is clear that competing experience is very important in a tournament. The players feel nervous and fail to get out of pressure," Marcos Sugiyama said in a statement received.

Sugiyama's optimism before the match immediately collapsed saw the defeat of Junaida Santi and colleagues in the first set. The players are getting depressed and make a lot of mistakes.
At first, Sugiyama was very optimistic about his squad because it referred to the results of the trials that were carried out before the championship were quite convincing.
"Yes, trials and major championships are very different. Therefore, the players must learn a lot from the games after matches they play," said the Japanese coach.
The defeat made Sugiyama pessimistic in the remaining Group A matches. The reason is, the group has more tough teams on paper such as Serbia, Puerto Rico, Argentina, and Canada.
Marcos said that the coaching team will focus on returning the condition of the players, especially physically and psychologically. He also hopes that they will be able to return to fighting spirit because the tournament is not over yet.
"Now, the players must appear burdenless. Even though they are the hosts, we have the underdog status. It must be used to appear freely in the remaining matches," he said.
The failure of ambition to win the first winning point at the World Championships makes Indonesia have to settle for being the caretaker of the standings.
Afra Hasna Nurhaliza and colleagues then face Canada in the second match on Friday, August 8, 2025. The clash starts at 20.00 WIB at the Java Pos Arena.
