Ballon D'Or Nomination: Yamal And Dembele Become The Spotlight Of Winning Titles

JAKARTA - The 2025 Ballon d'Or winner nomination has been announced. Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Demebele and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal are favorites.

Demebele played an important role in PSG's success in winning the first Champions League title in club history in the 2024/2025 season.

Meanwhile, Yamal's performance for Barcelona and the Spanish National Team (Timnas) made him aligned with Lionel Messi.

Last year's Ballon d'Or winner Rodri was not on the list after suffering a serious knee injury in September 2024 which ruled him out until the last second Premier League match.

Dembele joins the list with eight team-mates at PSG, including Desire Doue, Achraf Hakimi, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Although Ligue 1 clubs dominate, the Premier League has the most players on the list. There are Cole Palmer, Mohamed Salah, and Declan Rice among the candidates.

In addition, there are two players who have just joined the Premier League club this summer on the list of nominations, namely Viktor Gyokeeres (Arsenal) and Florian Wirtz (Liverpool).

Then, there were eight players from La Liga, including Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.

Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay was on the list after he inspired Napoli to win the Serie A title.

2025 Ballon d'Or nominations
