Stealing A Motorbike In Daan Mogot Flat, The Perpetrator Shoots Senpi To Fear Residents

JAKARTA - A man who stole a motorbike (curanmor) in the Daan Mogot Pesakih Flat area, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, was desperate to open fire from a firearm (senpi) on Thursday afternoon. The action was carried out to scare and disperse residents who were about to arrest him.

Despite causing panic, the perpetrator was finally caught by the residents and had been beaten to a pulp.

The police, who were confirmed on Thursday night, confirmed the incident. The head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kanit Reskrim) of the Cengkareng Police, AKP Gultom Parman, said that the perpetrator had been arrested.

"The perpetrator has been arrested," he said briefly.

Currently, the perpetrator is still undergoing investigation by police officers regarding the theft and use of firearms in the incident. "It is being followed up," added Gultom.

This incident was also recorded in a video which then went viral on social media. In the upload of the Instagram account @warga.jakbar, it appears that the residents dragged the perpetrators to the security post of Daan Mogot Flat after being arrested.

Not long after, the police came to the location and picked up the perpetrators who were already helpless. The perpetrator was lifted into a patrol car, accompanied by cheers and blasphemy from furious residents.

Until this news was published, the police had not provided further information regarding the details of the chronology, the type of firearms used, or whether or not there were victims as a result of the gunfire.
