Emma Raducanu Gets Former Coach Rafael Nadal For US Open 2025 Preparation
JAKARTA Emma Raducanu officially hooked up former coach Rafael Nadal, Francis Roig, as he prepares to face the season-ending Grand Slam US Open 2025.
The 22-year-old teamed up with England coach Mark Petchy, informally since March 2025 and has now decided to Roig into his coaching team.
"He obviously has a lot of experience. I am very happy to be able to continue working with him and have him in my team," Raducanu told Sky Sports.
Roig, 57, works with Nadal's uncle, Toni, from 2005 to 2022. He is part of all 22 Grand Slam victories won by Rafael Nadal.

Roig has joined Raducanu for the WTA 1000 event in Ohio this week, which is the last tournament before the last Grand Slam of the season begins in New York on August 24, 2025.
"Everything is going very well. It's my second day together (Roig) here (Ohio), but I had a few days in London before coming here," said Raducanu.
Raducanu, England's number one, which has a collection of Grand Slam titles at the US Open, will play at the Cincinnati Open for the first time since 2022 this week.
He will face his compatriot, Katie Boulter, or Olga Danilovic of Serbia in the first game after receiving an empty draw in the first round.
Raducanu's preparations for the US Open 2025 include a trip to the semifinals at the Washington Open in July 2025. At that time he lost 4-6 and 3-6 against Russian tennis player Anna Kalinskaya.
His poor journey in the tournament was followed by a disappointing defeat to finalist Wimbledon 2025, Amanda Anisimova, at the Canada Open 2025 last week.
