Help Fight Stunting In Indragiri Hulu, PTPN IV PalmCo: A Form Of Responsibility Of State Companies

JAKARTA - PTPN IV PalmCo runs a stunting alleviation program or lack of nutritional intake which results in disruption of growth in children in the Indragiri Hulu area, Riau.

Director of Institutional Relations of PTPN IV PalmCo, Irwan Warin Angin, revealed that the stunting intervention program has become the agenda of the company's TJSL program and has been implemented at various points from Sumatra to Kalimantan.

From 2024 to mid-2025, PTPN IV PalmCo has distributed stunting development assistance with a total value of more than IDR 7.4 billion, which reaches at least 4,247 children throughout Indonesia.

"This is a form of our responsibility as a state company to be present and involved in the growth and development of healthy children," said Irwan in a written statement, Thursday, August 7.

Each region is explained by Irwan of course has different challenges and needs. However, the spirit brought remains the same, namely reducing stunting in a sustainable and collaborative way with local governments.

In addition, Irwan said, his party also involves nutrition education and sustainable monitoring so that the results of the intervention can be measured and improved periodically. As well as implementing the model of the Father of Nursing Stunting (BAAS) which is carried out to be a form of synergy between the Company and the Regional Government in overcoming the health problems of the nation's generation.

"Therefore, our efforts do not stop at the distribution of aid alone, but also touch the aspects of family assistance and awareness in forming a healthy lifestyle," he said.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Indragiri Hulu, Ade Agus Hartanto, appreciated the PTPN IV PalmCo initiative which has helped overcome stunting in the area nicknamed Sri Gemilang.

Regent Ade assessed that the existence of PTPN IV Palmco through one of its Regions with the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program succeeded in providing material contributions and also presenting a directional and sustainable pattern of intervention.

"On behalf of the community and the Indragiri Hulu Regency Government, we express our appreciation and gratitude for the concern of PTPN IV who is willing to become the foster father of stunting (BAAS) children for 27 children in Sei Lala," said Ade.

As part of the program, PTPN IV PalmCo takes care of 27 children in the region, which is supported by a nutritional fulfillment package for the next three months.

This assistance is also equipped with assistance from nutritionists to ensure the growth and development of children is monitored regularly.

In addition, in the same activity, as many as 100 food packages were also distributed to the elderly as an effort to strengthen food security among vulnerable groups.

The contribution made at Inhu is apparently part of the Stunting Prevelancing Program which has been initiated by PTPN.
