Independence Day, CFD Sudirman-Thamrin August 17 Executed
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has eliminated the implementation of a motorized vehicle free day (CFD) along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman-MH Thamrin on Sunday, August 17.
The elimination of CFD Sudirman-Thamrin next Sunday was due to the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
"In connection with the 80th Indonesian Independence Day, the implementation of the motorized vehicle free day (HBKB) on August 17, 2025 was abolished," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo in his statement, Thursday, August 7.
Syafrin explained that the elimination of CFD was in accordance with Article 5 paragraph (1) of the DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 12 of 2016 concerning the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Free Day.
"The article stipulates that the implementation of the HBKB can be canceled if the simultaneous time is also held a special, national or international event, where these activities require a special traffic control and security," said Syafrin.
Syafrin explained that his party is also preparing a traffic engineering scheme in Jakarta, especially around the State Palace on Independence Day.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government is also coordinating with the Indonesian Independence Day committee, the police, and the Paspampres for the smooth running of the series of activities on August 17.
"We continue to coordinate to provide full support for the implementation, both for parking arrangements, as directed," explained Syafrin.
The DKI Transportation Agency, he continued, would alert a number of tow trucks in anticipation of taking action against vehicles parked carelessly during the commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day.
"So that there are no residents who park carelessly at certain points, which are urgent for mobility. Also, we will prepare mobile VMS, so that for people who have no interest in the Free Park or the Palace, they can take alternative routes outside the ring of implementation of the Indonesian Independence Day later," explained Syafrin.
