Economic Growth Reaches 5.12 Percent, DPR Leader: Thanks To The Pro-People Program
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal responded to Indonesia's economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 which reached 5.12 percent.
He assessed that this economic growth was due to the pro-people program and empowerment in the welfare sector carried out by the government.
"The DPR welcomes the latest Indonesia economic growth reports that exceed expectations. Of course this is inseparable from what has been done by the Government," said Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, Thursday, August 7.
According to Cucun, the stimuli provided by the Government are one of the drivers of economic growth in the second quarter of Indonesia, exceeding expectations.
"Although we are not closing our eyes that there is a decrease in purchasing power in some community groups, the results of our growth currently show that Indonesia's economy continues to move in a good direction," he said.
Cucun assessed that the pro-people programs and mutual empowerment carried out by the Government have been on the track, and their success must be appreciated. "Starting from the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program, People's Schools, economic stimuli issued by President Prabowo Subianto during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr," he said.
"As for the programs issued to maintain the growth rate and strengthen national economic stability in early June, such as wage subsidies, and various other social assistance programs (bansos)," added Cucun.

Cucun also appreciated the neat mechanism for receiving social assistance through the National Sole Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) which was commanded by the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment.
Meanwhile, DTSEN replaces the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) as the main reference base for providing social assistance to beneficiary families (KPM).
Cucun assessed that DTSEN was able to move people who were not yet prosperous with various social empowerment programs. "The evidence is that the number of poor people fell from 25.22 million in March 2024 to 23.85 million people," said the PKB Deputy.
"And the decline in the number of poor people will certainly increase people's purchasing power and ultimately contribute to economic growth in the second quarter of 2025," continued Cucun.
Cucun ensured that the DPR would continue to oversee government programs, and support every pro-people policy in order to achieve welfare and social justice for all Indonesian people.
"We believe that the government under the leadership of President Prabowo plus the support and orchestration of development carried out by all parties, in the end Indonesia, which is independent and prosperous for its people, will be realized," concluded Cucun.
