Jambi Police Name 3 Suspects For Corruption In SMK Practice Equipment

Jambi Police have again named three new suspects in the corruption case of the SMK practice equipment project at the Jambi Provincial Education Office which cost the state Rp8.57 billion for the 2022 fiscal year.

Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirrreskrisus) Jambi Police Kombes Taufik Nurmandia said the three new suspects were RWS who acted as brokers or intermediaries between the supplier of goods and the Jambi Province Education Office (Disdik). Broker asked the provider for a commission of 20 to 25 percent of the project value of Rp180 billion.

The suspect RWS is subject to articles as referred to in Article 2 paragraph (1), and Article 3, Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a, Article 18 in conjunction with Article 15 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Then the suspect WS as the owner or leader of PT Indotec Lestari Prima (ILP) who is included in the People's Wanted List (DPO) of the police acts as a sub provider of goods that carries out five packages for the procurement of principal vocational training equipment on orders from PT Tahta Djaja Internasional (TDI) orders.

Where the role of WS, who is still a fugitive, asked PT TDI for help to lend a company account (password and id and input goods in its e-catalog storefront) or the language generally rides click with a commitment of 10 percent commission on the contract/order value of the five packages being worked on.

Then for the suspect ES as the President Director of PT TJI who signed seven warrants then issued order orders of five packages to PT ILP, Where WS seemed to be PT TDI ordering goods to PT IPL.

Suspect WS in this case is subject to Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3, Article 18 of Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption.

In the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of main practice equipment (PBK physical DAK) at the Jambi Provincial Education Office using the APBD for the 2022 fiscal year, the suspect was initially ZH as a Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for SMK development, whose case file has now been sent to the Prosecutor's Office in phase I and on instructions the prosecutor has entered the P19 stage or is completed and by investigators has completed the prosecutor's instructions and will send back the case file from stage 1 to 2.

The suspects RWS and ES have been detained at the Jambi Police detention center since July 18, 2025, while the suspect WS as the leader of PT ILP is still at large and has been issued a DPO by the Jambi Police.
