Yoshimi Ogawa Believes Referee In Super League Has Good Quality
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the PSSI Referee Committee, Yoshimi Ogawa, is optimistic about the quality of referees in the 2025/2026 Super League which will start on August 8, 2025. He said that this was directly proportional to the preparations that had been made.
"We have made intense preparations so that the referee is ready to lead from the Super League to the Championship division. We are ready to provide the best referees on the field," said Yoshimi Ogawa in Jakarta, Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
On the other hand, Ogawa did not deny that there was still a need for improvement in the quality of referees in Indonesia.

However, for two years working at PSSI within the scope of referees in Indonesia, he saw that there had been positive developments.
"Compared to the previous two seasons, this season I am confident that they have developed both physically, mentally, and technically."
"They (the referees) are better at understanding the new regulations. I believe they can continue to grow."
"However, of course, we cannot cover up that they can make mistakes," he said.
Ogawa said his party would still deploy foreign referees in leading the Super League match. Regarding the number, he has not been able to describe in more detail.
"Regarding foreign referees, Pak Erick (Chairman of PSSI) said that the percentage (foreign referees) would be small. However, we still have local referees who have capabilities," he said.
"However, we really have to bring a foreign referee with good quality so that it can be an example. Sometimes inviting a foreign referee is also difficult because we have to go through the process at AFC and FIFA," said Ogawa again.
