Ahmad Dhani Frees Dewa 19 Song Brings At Resto With Many Branches
JAKARTA - The frontman of Dewa 19, Ahmad Dhani, finally took a stand in the public spotlight on cafe and restaurant entrepreneurs who were 'surprised' because they had to pay royalties.
As is known, the Mie Gacoan case that has not paid music royalties of up to billions of rupiah is a new focus in copyright chaos.
The case caused fear among cafe and restaurant entrepreneurs. They began to leave Indonesian music and chose to play foreign songs to the sounds of nature.
The chairman of the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN), Dharma Oratmangun, responded by stating that foreign songs and natural voices do not give up the obligation of entrepreneurs to pay royalties.
In the midst of this fear, Ahmad Dhani through his Instagram account announced that restaurant owners could play Dewa 19 for free.
The musician, who is currently a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, is willing to give Dewa 19's master recording to play, provided that the songs are the latest version sung by Virzha and Ello.
