Gerindra Or PSI? Budi Arie Affirms Ready To Follow Prabowo's Direction
JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Budi Arie Setiadi opened his voice about the direction of his future political career. He emphasized that he would remain upright in supporting President Prabowo Subianto, including if asked to join the Gerindra Party.
"Ready (to join Gerindra). Everyone who is ordered by the president, we are ready. We are upright with the president's orders," said Budi Arie when met at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 6.
This statement was in response to questions about Budi's opportunity to join the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), a party that was close to volunteers supporting President Jokowi.
"Following President Prabowo's orders. We are Pak Prabowo's subordinates," said Budi, who is also known as the general chairman of Pro Jokowi (Projo) volunteers.
Previously, President Prabowo had joked about Budi Arie's political status at the PSI Congress in Solo, Sunday, July 20. In his speech, Prabowo asked a question that sparked laughter from the audience.
'Minister of Cooperatives, Brother Budi Arie Setiadi. Are you entering PSI? No, huh? PSI or Gerindra you?' Prabowo said.
