Coach Hopes Fajar/Fikri Consistent

JAKARTA Men's doubles Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri are expected to appear consistent when they get the opportunity to undergo further trials next month.

The pair were registered for the China Masters Super 750 event which took place on 16-21 September 2025 and the Korea Open Super 500 which was held on 23-28 September 2025.

The men's doubles coach, Antonius Budi Ariantho, hopes that Fajar/Fikri can give their best performances in both tournaments after winning the Super 1000 China Open 2025 in July 2025.

"The results they got at the 2025 China Open are good. So, what I need is their consistency," said Anton at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Fajar/Fikri are united in Japan and China Open 2025 to maintain the atmosphere of the match because their partner has not been able to appear. Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Fajar's partner, was sidelined due to family affairs. Meanwhile, Daniel Marthin, Fikri's partner, is still injured.

Although they have only played together for the first time at the BWF World Tour, Fajar/Fikri have shown impressive results. In addition to the title in China, they also penetrated the quarter-finals in Japan.

Anton said that Fajar/Fikri's ability as an elite player in the world certainly cannot be doubted. He emphasized that with the results in China, of course, there is nothing wrong to try to unite them again.

"Moreover, the champions are in China. On the journey of winning, they beat all the leading players. Their abilities are certainly unquestionable," he said.

Apart from Fajar/Fikri, the new combination of Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan is also registered at the China Masters and the Korea Open 2025.

Before being tried again, Fajar and Rian will first focus on the upcoming 2025 World Championships (BWF World Championships). This prestigious event will be held in Paris, France, on August 25-31, 2025.
