Stunting Rate In Jakarta Rises In The Last 2 Years, DKI Provincial Government Asked To Review Its Handling
JAKARTA - Member of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Elva Farhi Qolbina, highlighted the trend of stunting cases in Jakarta, which has increased in the last two years. Based on data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI), the stunting rate in the capital city in 2024 is 17.2 percent.
"The data turns out to show an increase in stunting prevalence from 2022 to 2024. In 2022, the stunting rate is 14.8 percent. Then, in 2025 the stunting rate rose to 17.2 percent," Elva said in his statement, Wednesday, August 6.
According to Elva, this condition is a serious problem that must be handled as soon as possible by the DKI Provincial Government. Elva urged a review of the Governor's Decree (Kepgub) Number 1337 of 2016 concerning the Cost of Activities and Expenditures for Providing Additional Food at Integrated Service Posts.
"Perhaps, the Health Office needs to review the Governor's Decree No. 1337 of 2016 regarding the type of food used in the program," said Elva.
According to Elva, the study is important to find out how much calories per person needs, along with the types of additional foods it must receive.
In addition, related studies can also be the basis for calculating the recipient's nutritional assistance budget so that the program in question can run optimally.
"Perhaps, the re-examined study can also include calorie needs along with the types of additional food needed by the recipients," explained Elva.
"We also have to recalculate the budget for each person so that the ideal program can actually be right on target," he continued.
