NTT Governor Says Ministry Of Health Builds 3 Hospitals In NTT To Maximize Community Health Services

KUPANG - The Ministry of Health has built three hospitals in East Nusa Tenggara Province to maximize public health services (yakes) in the island-based province.

"Yes, it's true that we have two, yes, another one is still in process," said East Nusa Tenggara Governor Melki Laka Lena in Kupang, Antara, Wednesday, August 6.

This was conveyed by him after attending a central government coordination meeting with provincial governments and district/city governments throughout NTT to discuss the acceleration of the National Strategic Program (PSN) in the province.

Melki said the two hospitals that had been built were the first in Southwest Sumba and the other in East Manggarai Regency.

"For the other one, I will check at the Minister of Health later, maybe next year," said Melki.

But what is certain is that said Melki, the two hospitals that have been built are in the context of increasing capacity from type D to type C. The increase is accompanied by physical development.

Then the medical devices and human resources (HR) will also be added, both nurses and doctors.

However, he said, doctors will not only be prepared by the NTT Provincial Government but will be assisted by the Ministry of Health. Because according to Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin's presentation, he will prepare scholarships for doctors.

"Let the sons of the NTT area themselves. The cost for schools is financed by the Ministry of Health, so they can return to NTT again," he said.

Previously in the coordination meeting, the Minister of Health in his presentation said that the central government built three hospitals in NTT to help the health of the NTT community.

Therefore, the NTT Provincial Government was asked to make preparations, one of which was to provide the doctor to be ready when the hospital was completed.
