Soaring 32.8 Percent, PLN Pockets IDR 6.64 Trillion Net Profit Until Semester I-2025
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) managed to record a profit for the current period of IDR 6.64 trillion during Semester I in 2025. The profit gain rose 32.8 percent compared to the same period last year of IDR 5 trillion.
The increase in profit was in line with the increase in revenue recorded by the company. PLN's revenue reached IDR 281.89 trillion as of June 2025. This amount of revenue increased 7.57 percent compared to the same period last year which amounted to IDR 262.06 trillion.
This increase in revenue was also driven by electricity sales of 155.62 Terawatt hour (TWh) during Semester I 2025. This sale grew 4.36 percent yoy compared to the same period last year which reached 149.11 TWh.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo explained, the household sector became the main contributor to electricity sales, with consumption reaching 67.14 TWh in Semester I 2025.
"This number grew 5.13 percent yoy, an increase of 3.27 TWh compared to the same period the previous year, and contributed 43.14 percent of total national electricity sales," he said, Wednesday, August 6.

Meanwhile, electricity consumption in the industrial sector grew by 2.66 percent on an annual basis, with volumes reaching 1,165 Gigawatt hour (GWh).
"This growth is driven by an increase in electricity demand from medium industry customers, especially in the food and beverage, textiles and finished clothing sectors, as well as the rubber and plastic industry," he said.
