Women's Organizations Can Be The Front Guard In Child Nutrition Education

JAKARTA - Women's organizations have a very strategic role in building public awareness, especially in terms of nutrition education for children.

With their closeness to communities and direct roles in families, organizations such as Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) can spearhead in conveying the importance of fulfilling nutrition as a foundation for the health and intelligence of future generations.

The Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi, highlighted the importance of the active involvement of women's organizations in supporting nutrition education for parents. According to him, the role of Fatayat NU is very significant, especially in terms of providing nutritious food for children.

"Fatayat NU has a strategic position to encourage increased nutrition of children, especially in introducing nutritious food needed for children's growth and development," said Arifah in Jakarta, as quoted by ANTARA.

The statement was delivered at a talk show entitled "Collaboration on the Commemoration of National Children's Day 2025: The Importance of Nutritional Foods and Fortification in Fulfilling Iron to Prevent ADB in Children."

Arifah emphasized that nutritional adequacy must be the main focus in the household, given the importance of the role of nutrition in creating a healthy and superior generation. This, according to her, is an important part in efforts to realize the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045.

"We need to educate mothers, especially young mothers who have toddlers and school age, that nutritional needs are a top priority in the family. Health is one of the main pillars in shaping quality human resources," he explained.

He also added that collaboration between ministries, institutions, and community organizations is needed in order to realize a common goal in forming a strong next generation.

"We appreciate the cooperation that has been established between Fatayat Nahdlatul Ulama and the Ministry of Health. This collaboration is part of a big step to produce healthy, strong, and ready Indonesian children for the future," said Arifah closing her statement.
