Ragunan Will Be Revitalized, DKI Provincial Government Is Looking For Funds Outside The Regional Budget

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to revitalize the Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR) in South Jakarta next year

Head of the City Parks and Forest Service, Fajar Sauri, revealed that the DKI Provincial Government is looking for revitalization financing outside the regional budget (APBD).

"The plan is, if possible, you don't have to use APBD funds. Use it outside the APBD," Fajar told reporters, Tuesday, August 5.

In the revitalization plan, the DKI Provincial Government is still preparing detailed engineering design (DED) such as design, specifications, and technical calculations.

According to him, DED is an important basis so that the development of TMR in the future can be carried out comprehensively, integrated, and sustainably, without ignoring the principles of animal conservation and welfare.

"Now the preparation stage is being planned and monitored by consultants. If the planning is finished, we will try to (start revitalization) next year," said Fajar.

Previously, on Thursday, July 17, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno held a limited meeting to discuss the development of the Ragunan Wildlife Park. During the meeting, Rano assessed that Ragunan as a favorite tourist destination for Jakarta residents needed to be improved in quality.

One of the proposals that emerged was the construction of a cable car facility to facilitate the mobility of visitors from one zone to another.

"It can be made a kind of cable car, so that it can become a facility. He can turn around, right. So that people who want to go to the cage don't go far," said Rano.

Rano also highlighted the congestion that often occurs at the entrance of Ragunan, especially on weekends. He considered that there needed to be an evaluative step to reduce the density of traffic around the tourist area.

"We can't hide this. I want us to be open so that we can evaluate how to reduce it. If it eliminates, it's impossible," he said.
