Ministry Of Trade Confiscates Illegal Imported Goods Worth IDR 26.4 Billion From China To France
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has secured illegal imported goods worth IDR 26.4 billion. These items consist of tires, plastic raw materials, to food and beverages originating from China, France, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia to South Korea.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso said the items were the result of supervision involving the Commercial Order Supervision Center (BPTN) from four regions, namely Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, and Bekasi.
"This supervision is carried out from January to July 2025 on or through the post-border customs area," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 6.
Budi said inspection and supervision were carried out on 5,766 documents for notification of imports of goods or PIB. A total of 5,449 PIBs out of 1,424 business actors are in accordance with the provisions based on regularity checks in the e-reporting system.
"A total of 317 PIBs from 147 business actors continued with the field supervision process with the results of 118 PIBs or 52 business actors did not meet the provisions and 199 PIBs or 95 business actors were in accordance with the provisions," he explained.
Budi said the violation that occurred was not accompanied by an import approval document. Then, it is not equipped with a surveyor report document. Then, it does not include a UTTB type permit or does not include a registration number for goods or NPB for mandatory SNI products.
Furthermore, Budi said that most of the goods that violate this provision are imported from China, France, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Malaysia.

"Products that do not meet the provisions include tires, plastic raw materials, cosmetics and household supplies, food and beverage products, traditional medicines and downstream plastic health supplements, forestry products, animal products, certain chemicals, ceramics, electronic products, sheets of certain products such as textiles and UTTP with a total customs value of approximately Rp. 26.4 billion," he said.
Budi said items that did not comply with these provisions had been followed up in accordance with the provisions of Government Regulation Number 29 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of the Trade Sector.
Budi said that business actors who were proven to have committed violations had been given sanctions in the form of warning letters against 14 business actors. Then, a warrant for the withdrawal of goods and the construction of goods for 18 business actors.
"As well as temporary suspension of customs access to 2 business actors," he explained.
