Minister Of Religion's Firm Call Amid Polarization Threats

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar emphasized the importance of the role of the Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) in maintaining social stability and maintaining harmony among religious believers in Indonesia.

"Alhamdulillah, this meeting is extraordinary. It is this Religious Harmony Forum that will be the shield of our harmony," said Nasaruddin when opening the National Gathering of the Center for Religious Harmony in Tangerang, Banten, Antara, Wednesday, August 6.

According to Nasaruddin, FKUB is at the forefront of responding to religious issues that develop in society. He encouraged the government, both central and regional, to provide real support to this forum.

"The stronger the workforce of FKUB, the more stable our nation is. So I once again appeal to all parties, especially local governments, to pay attention and support the implementation of FKUB cultural programs," said Nasaruddin.

He said FKUB had proven to be the most responsive, fast, and effective party in solving problems related to religious life in the community.

Nasaruddin also highlighted the diversity of religious leaders involved in this forum, ranging from Islam, Protestants, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhists, to Confucian.

"Here the leaders of the people gather, and they are very heard by their respective followers. Their presence is an important force for the government in maintaining the voices of peace and harmony," he said.

The FKUB National Gathering (Silatnas) is a momentum to strengthen collaboration between religious believers as well as affirm the government's commitment to maintaining harmony as the foundation of the life of the nation and state.

Carrying the theme 'Caring For People's Harmony Towards Indonesia Gold 2045', The FKUB Silatnas and Religious Institutions reflect the spirit of building cross- faith synergies in facing national challenges in the future.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion, Kamaruddin Amin, said that this activity was not just a ceremony, but a national consolidation space for harmony actors to strengthen policy directions and real action in the field.

"This Silatnas is a stage of collaboration and reflection. We want religious leaders, local governments, and FKUB throughout Indonesia to move together to maintain social harmony," said Kamaruddin.

He hopes that this activity will produce concrete formulations that can be translated to the regional level.
