Mali And Uzbekistan Join In The 2025 Independence Cup

JAKARTA - The 2025 Independence Cup will start rolling on August 12-18, 2025 in Medan, North Sumatra. There are four teams that will enliven this tournament.

On this agenda, the U-17 Indonesian national team is the host. The other three teams that will enliven are Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Mali.

"Four countries namely Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Mali will compete in the 2025 Independence Cup."

"We support the U-17 Indonesian national team to give their best in the 2025 Independence Cup. The spirit of Garuda Muda," wrote PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir on his Instagram account quoted Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The team participating in the 2025 Independence Cup has changed compared to previous information. Initially Tajikistan, South Africa, and another team were invited.

However, South Africa did not participate and in the end it was confirmed that Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Mali would take part in this mini tournament.

For this agenda, the U-17 Indonesian national team coach, Nova Arianto, has announced the names of 30 players who will defend the team.

Some names are the mainstay players of the U-17 Indonesian national team when they appeared in the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup. Mathew Baker, Fadly Alberto, M. Zahaby Gholy, until Evandra Florasta returned to the squad.

In addition, there are the names of goalkeeper Dafa Gasemi, Daniel Alfredo, and Algazani Dwi who are the mainstay of guarding the defense.
