Head Of BGN Guarantees No Corruption In MBG Program

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana guarantees that there will be no misuse of the budget, aka corrupt practices in the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program.

Dadan emphasized that the financial system implemented had been designed in such a way that it could not be manipulated.

"There is no possibility of corruption in Free Nutrition Food (MBG) because we have made a virtual account, it must be signed by partners and the Nutrition Agency. Then, we put raw materials at cost, operational at cost. Incentives that can be eaten," Dadan said at the joint MoU signing conference with the Ministry of Public Works in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 5.

He explained that raw material spending must also refer to market price references. If a markup occurs by partners, it can be detected immediately in a short time.

Several partners who were caught doing this practice, said Dadan, were immediately audited by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and asked to return state money.

"So, for cases of misuse of the budget, it is very unlikely that this will happen in the MBG Program. Moreover, the money is not stored in the Nutrition Agency's account, but sent from the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) directly to the virtual (account)," he said.

The graduate of the Bogor Agricultural Institution (IPB) admits that the risk of budget misuse persists, but he admits that he is even more worried about the potential food poisoning in the MBG program. According to Dadan, poisoning is more complex because it involves many cross sections.

"If you all ask me, there are two biggest risks in the MBG (program). One budget abuse, the second is poisoning. To be honest, I was asked, I was more afraid of the second," he said.

According to him, poisoning can occur from many factors. Starting from the selection of raw materials, processing processes, recitation, delivery to the health condition of children when consuming food.

He also gave an example that one student vomited because he was sick, but caused one school to panic because it was considered food for the cause.

"We continue to tighten, so that we can identify all the factors," he explained.
