Prabowo Wants Commissioners To Fix SOEs, Not Looking For Tantiems
JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that President Prabowo Subianto wants commissioners who are assigned to focus on fixing the management and finances of SOEs or their subsidiaries, not to seek bonuses, incentives and other incomes.
The Minister of State Secretary's statement relates to the new policy of Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara Indonesia) which regulates that members of the Board of Commissioners of BUMN and its subsidiaries are not allowed to get bonuses, incentives (performance incentives, special incentives, long-term incentives) and/or income in other forms associated with the company's performance.
"Indeed, first, our spirit is that we really want to fix our SOEs. Because our SOEs are the backbone of our economy. So that we feel that one, regarding the implementation of SOEs, we have to fix it," said Prasetyo when giving a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 5.
Because of his role as the backbone of the country's economy, the Minister of State Secretary assessed that there are three things that must be improved in SOEs, namely the division or human resources, management and finance.
Therefore, President Prabowo decided that the commissioners assigned to a number of SOEs really focus on fixing SOEs, not on finding bonuses or incentives and other income.
"Mr. President made the decision that who was assigned to BUMN-BUMN, especially commissioners, indeed his job was to fix the three things. Not planning or wanting to get tantiem. So there is no problem when it comes to commissioners, they don't get tantiem," said Prasetyo.
Based on the information gathered, BPI Danantara Indonesia has established policies related to the provision of bonuses, incentives, and/or income in other forms to the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and subsidiaries.
Policy determination is contained in the Danantara Indonesia Circular (SE) Number S-063/DI-BP/VII/2025 dated July 30, 2025, addressed to the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of SOEs and its subsidiaries, confirmed by Danantara Indonesia in Jakarta, Friday.
For members of the Board of SOEs and subsidiaries, the provision of bonuses, incentives (performance incentives, special incentives, long-term incentives) and/or other forms associated with the company's performance, must be based on financial reports that are true of the outcome of the company's operations and reflect on sustainable business activities.
