Police Reveal Motives For Terror Bombing Lion Air
JAKARTA - The Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief, Kombes Ronald Sipayung, revealed that H (42), the perpetrator of the bomb terror on the Lion Air plane, was negative for drugs.
"Although the results of urine and alcohol tests are negative, the investigative team will still carry out further psychiatric examinations through psychologists from the National Police Hospital to ensure the suspect's mental condition." said Kombes Ronald, in his statement.
Ronald also revealed that H admitted that he had traveled by air quite long from Merauke, Makassar, to Soetta Airport, and was about to continue his flight to Kualanamu. He is said to have made a bomb threat out of frustration and fatigue during the trip.
"Temporary motive is an unstable psychological condition due to travel intensity," explained Ronald.
The investigation process is still ongoing. Joint investigators from the National Police and Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Security Authority have examined eight witnesses, including confiscation of evidence, CCTV footage, and videos circulating in the community.
