Train Derails at Jakarta Kota Station, Commuter Line Runs Only as Far as Manggarai

JAKARTA - Commuter trains from Bogor to Jakarta Kota experienced disruptions on Tuesday morning, August 5th. As a result, the train only reached Manggarai Station.

"The train only goes as far as Manggarai Station," the train driver announced.

According to the account @KAI_commuter, there were problems with train 1189 (Bogor—Jakarta Kota) on track 9 at Jakarta Kota Station.

"Currently, it is still being handled by officers. We urge passengers to prioritize safety and follow the officers' instructions. We apologize for the inconvenience," wrote KAI.

One user said the disruption occurred because the train derailed at Jakarta Kota Station.

"I took the train to work this morning, and when I was near Jakarta Kota Station, the train derailed. Luckily, we were close, but those heading to Jakarta Kota will definitely be delayed," said the account @oyoy6200.

KAI Commuter Line passengers heading to the city center are advised to consider alternative travel options, including using other modes of transportation such as TransJakarta buses, the MRT, or the LRT, which connect at several transit stations.

Officers on the ground are also being deployed to assist affected passengers, including providing information on alternative routes and ticket refunds for those who cancel their trips.

KAI stated that it will provide further information once the evacuation is complete and travel has returned to normal. The public is advised to continue monitoring developments through KAI's official information channels.
